The network society is here and there is no going back. It seems that the more connected we are and the faster information flows, the more conscious we become of ourselves and our surroundings. This consciousness, combined with the power of expression, is turning consumers into participants. And their voice is louder and clearer every day. They want to feel represented by what they consume. However, the reality is that people wouldn’t care if 74% of the brands they use simply disappeared overnight (Meaningful Brands, 2017).

While organisations insist on avoiding relevant discussions outside of their business context, a digitally empowered crowd creates its own way of entering the political, economic and social spheres and engaging to exercise its citizenship. It uses its tools to question institutions and demand a position. It wants to express itself, feel heard and see important issues being addressed.

In this talk you will discover the new roles of organisations and communication in this new context. You will take away which old practices to abandon and which new ones to adopt in order to become an action brand – driven by purpose and cause, open to dialog and collaboration, connected to its audiences, and impactful on both individual and collective levels.
